In India it was costly for a family to marry in violation of a ban to prevent the spread of the corona virus. A fine of INR 600000 (approximately PKR 13.32 million) was imposed. According to India Times the family hails from Bhalwar district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. They violated the ban by inviting more than 50 guests to the wedding, 15 of whom were later diagnosed with the corona virus.
According to the report, the groom s father s name has been identified as Ghosulal Rathi and a case has been registered against him. District Collector Rajendra Bhatt said All the guests of Ghoso Lal s son s wedding were tested for corona and 15 of them tested positive for the virus Now one of them has died. We spent Rs. 626600 for annoying guests and making other arrangements at the wedding so we fined Ghaisalal for violating the ban.
