Karachi – Great political embarrassment for the PPP, Senator Dilawar Khan’s son and brother changed their decision just hours after the announcement of joining the PPP. According to details, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) network was overjoyed on Saturday when it was reported that the brother and son of Senator Dilawar Khan, who was sitting in the upper house as an independent, had decided to join the PPP.
It was reported that the son and brother of Senator Dilawar Khan decided to join the PPP at the invitation of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto. Adnan Khan and Azam Khan were to announce they’re joining the PPP on Sunday. He belonged to PML-N and Adnan Khan was an independent candidate for the provincial assembly seat in the last elections.
Senator Dilawar Khan is the parliamentary leader of the Independent Group in the Senate. According to media reports, Dilawar Khan contacted his brother and son about the news broadcast on the media and then after a long consultation managed to force both of them to change their decision to join the PPP. Political analysts are calling the development a political embarrassment for the PPP.
Earlier in the day, PPP dropped important political wickets of Functional League in Sindh. Akbar Shah Rashdi and Mehtab Akbar Rashdi of Functional League decided to join PPP. Functional League leader Akbar Shah Rashdi confirmed his joining PPP. Akbar Rashdi said that Pirpagara expressed good wishes on the decision to join PPP.
Earlier, PML-Q’s Mazhar Abbas and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Rana Amjad Ali had also joined the PPP. During a meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Mazhar Abbas and Rana Amjad Ali announced they’re joining the PPP. Earlier in June this year, local PTI leader Sardar Aziz joined the PPP along with 50 associates. In the last few days, the PPP had also lost big wickets to the PML-N. Former Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri and Abdul Qadir Baloch had announced to join PPP
