KARACHI – Two accused have been arrested for burning a 19-year-old boy alive in the Ibrahim Haideri area of Karachi. The accused said in an initial statement that Zeeshan was harassing his wife by calling her and at the scene, he also called her and set her on fire by pouring petrol on her.
According to police, the accused could not produce any evidence to substantiate their statement while raids are being carried out to arrest the accomplices of the accused. A 19-year-old Zeeshan son of Muhammad Salman, who was burnt alive after domestic violence on August 26 within the limits of Ibrahim Haideri police station, died on Monday while undergoing treatment at Burns Center of Civil Hospital, according to police. He had gone to her house for a meeting, where the woman’s husband Hanif, her two brothers Ramzan, Yaseen, and other accused had doused her with petrol and set her on fire. Later, the accused fled on motorcycles. They gathered and put out the fire and rushed Mazroob to the hospital, while police said that the case was registered in the complaint of Mazroob Zeeshan, in which Mazroob had told the police that on August 26, Khatun Zeenat’s phone rang. He had come to Ibrahim Haidari’s house. He could not go that day. The next night I reached there. According to police, the suspects fled on motorcycles after the incident. The deceased was a resident of Manipur Mosquito Colony and a laborer by profession, who worked in a fishery. However, the police handed over the body to the heirs after taking necessary action.
While the police say that the accused Zeenat was a friend of the deceased Zeeshan, the two worked together, the police claim that the incident took place in the name of honor, however, the police are searching for the accused.
