A joint operation has been launched by Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and police in the Old Golimar and Malir areas of Karachi on the basis of intelligence information.
According to details, as a result of the operation, the five most wanted accusing involved in drug trafficking, targeted killings, extortion, and robberies have been arrested.
A Sindh Rangers spokesman said that the arrested accused included Mohammad Amir alias Mota, Arsalan alias Mitho, Rehman, Mohammad Hamza, and Daniel while arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.
The Sindh Rangers spokesman further said that during the interrogation, the accused revealed that they had been working at the drug den of Kashif Dada, a notorious drug dealer in Old Golimar since 2016, and the accused further revealed that they were also involved in drug trafficking in Old Golimar. He also received a monthly allowance of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 from Marble Market, Auto Garage Hotel, and various shops located in the area.
He further said that apart from extortion, the arrested accused have been involved in killing and injuring anti-drug dealers by firing on them.
A Sindh Rangers spokesman said that the accused had been involved in more than 300 thefts, robberies, and snatching of mobile phones in Old Golimar, Saddar, Lasbela, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, and Lalokhit areas. He has been arrested by the Rangers and has gone to jail. Upon his release, he resumes drug trafficking, extortion, and robbery.
It is to be noted that raids are also being carried out for the arrest of other accomplices of the accused and the arrested accused along with arms and ammunition have been given over to the police for additional legitimate activity.
