Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani claimed that 10,000 to 15,000 Pakistanis were involved in the Taliban’s attack on Kabul
Washington – The United States refused to support Ashraf Ghani’s claim about Pakistan. According to details, a senior State Department official thanked Pakistan and other partners for providing “significant assistance” in US efforts to withdraw US troops and civilians from Afghanistan. State Department representative Ned Price, when gotten some information about Ashraf Ghani’s case, said he was not in a situation to remark on the reports.
The State Department has denied supporting former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s claim that 10,000 to 15,000 Pakistanis were involved in the Taliban’s attack on Kabul. The US official also did not answer the question of whether Washington still considers Ashraf Ghani the legitimate ruler of Afghanistan.
According to media reports, when Ned Price was asked if he would comment on the claim that the Taliban forces in Kabul included foreigners, he said that he would provide more information if he had any.
