A special commission will be set up to protect the rights of minorities in Punjab.
Lahore – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar was received at the Chief Minister’s Office by Chairman One Man Commission Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Suddle. Talking on the occasion, Chief Minister Usman Bazdar said that a special commission would be formed for the protection of the rights of minorities in Punjab and a draft of the Minority Rights Commission has been prepared.
The Punjab government has increased the budget for minorities five times in the current financial year and Rs 2.5 billion has been set aside for the welfare of minority communities in the current financial year. Instructions have been issued to fill the vacancies under the 5% quota of jobs allotted to the minority community and these recruitments will be on 100% merit. The quota allocation of jobs for minority communities will be ensured.
He said that for the first time in the history of Punjab, 2% special quota has been fixed for minorities in higher education institutions, and from 2% quota minority students will be able to get higher education in the best schools. The model minority area has been declared. The temple in the Bhong area of ​​Rahim Yar Khan has been restored in a month.
No effort will be spared for the welfare of minorities and the protection of their rights. In the new Pakistan, minorities have equivalent freedoms. Provincial Ministers Ejaz Alam, Asad Khokhar, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Secretary of Human Rights and Minority Affairs, and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
