King Charles appears to be raising concerns about his health as the monarch cancels two major upcoming plans with Queen Camilla.
Buckingham Palace had announced on Thursday that the King was admitted to the hospital after suffering from the side effects of his cancer treatment. However, Palace officials dismissed it as ‘minor’ bump in the road in the recovery.
While the King appeared in good spirits on Friday as he returned to Clarence House to convalesce, The Sun reported that two trips abroad have been called off.
Charles was meant to travel to Romania with Camilla for his annual walking holiday. Moreover, his planned trip to African spa retreat has also been scrapped.
“Charles is a hardworking King, but he needs and deserves occasional time off,” a source told the outlet. “It was unfortunate that he couldn’t fly with Camilla, as it was hoped they could have a well-earned break together.”
Camilla, who enjoyed a brief vacation in India on the return leg from their tour of Australia and Samoa last year, is understood to be left upset and worried. She would also be concerned for the health of her husband.
They continued, “He adores Romania and looks forward to visiting every year, but it would have involved just too much walking and he can’t face it right now.”
The news causes concerns as Charles continues to get cancer treatment after announcing his diagnosis last year in February.
