Salman Khan’s highly anticipated film Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, released on March 30, a day before Eid ul Fitr, drawing large crowds to theatres.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the action-packed movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar in key roles.
The film’s release generated significant buzz, especially with Salman’s tradition of unveiling his films during the Eid festival. Sikandar marks Salman’s first major release since Tiger 3 in 2023, further heightening expectations.
However, despite the excitement, the film’s opening day performance has been underwhelming, with Sikandar earning INR 40mn by Eid noon, disappointing some fans who were hoping for a stronger performance.
Sikandar is facing competition at the box office from Mohanlal’s Empuraan, which also hit theatres around the same time. Commenting on the clash, Salman expressed his admiration for Mohanlal and the film, calling it an “excellent” production.
Salman, who is known for performing his own stunts, reflected on the physical toll of action scenes, mentioning that his body has suffered multiple injuries over the years.
