KARACHI: Sehwan Police foiled an armed attack on Government Boys High School, Sehwan and arrested four attackers of Rind community along with arms.
According to Police, attackers wanted to harm a senior teacher of School Pir Muhammad Rind over a land dispute, who narrowly escaped unhurt due to police action. Sehwan Police registered case against 12-armed accused of Rind community under sections of anti-terrorism, attempt to murder and others.
According to the FIR, nearly one dozen motorcycle-riding suspects entered the Government High School, Sehwan constituency of the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, and opened fire, broke open the doors, damaged vehicles and spread terror. The chief minister directed the Police authorities for prompt action. Sources informed The News that as attackers entered the school teacher Pir Muhammad Rind took refuge in his office. Immediately afterwards Sehwan Police also reached the scene and arrested four attackers.
SHO Sehwan Zulfiqar Odhano told The News that Police took timely action, saved precious lives and arrested some of attackers. He said a case has been registered under the anti-terrorism act against 12 suspects at the complaint of Pir Muhammad Rind. Teachers, civil society activists and citizens strongly protested the incident, raised slogans, and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.
