SUKKUR: A Station House Officer (SHO) was martyred, and two others sustained injuries when dacoits opened fire during a robbery bid on the Mehar Indus Highway in the Dadu.
The robbers blocked the Indus Highway late last night and began looting vehicles. They fired upon a car and a passenger coach, robbing passengers, including women, of jewellery and valuables.
When SHO Ghulam Abbas Magsi, a resident of Jhal Magsi, reached the crime spot, the dacoits opened fire, killing him. The coach driver and the car driver were also injured. An investigation is currently underway.
