Water issue with Sindh should be settled amicably: Punjab PA speaker

LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad has said water issue between Sindh and Punjab can be sorted out amicably.

While chairing the Punjab Assembly session and talking to media earlier, the PA speaker also expressed profound grief over the loss of lives in Balochistan incident. He also lauded the role of security forces for its commitment to defeat terrorists. Malik Muhammad Ahmad over objections raised by the Sindh government stated if Punjab was using its water, it should be avoided, adding this issue could be sorted out amicably.

Saeed Akbar Niwani, one of the senior most members of the House, while speaking on a point of order urged the speaker to make sure members attend the session. He also urged the chair to come on time as this would also bind others to attend the session.

Ruling party MPA Amjad Ali Javaid demanded closure of Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank while terming it a white elephant. Meanwhile, Uzma Kardar of PMLN submitted a resolution condemning the terrorist incident in Balochistan.
