Josh Giddey delivered a moment of brilliance as the Chicago Bulls stunned the Los Angeles Lakers with a dramatic 119-117 victory on Thursday.
Giddey’s last-second shot from beyond half-court sealed the win, capping off a stunning late-game comeback.
Chicago erased an 18-point fourth-quarter deficit in a frantic finish. Trailing 115-110 with 12.6 seconds left, Patrick Williams and Coby White hit clutch 3-pointers before the Lakers’ Austin Reaves responded with a layup, putting Los Angeles ahead 117-116 with 3.3 seconds remaining.
Giddey then took center stage. Bringing the ball up the court, he launched a deep three from beyond half-court at the buzzer, sinking the improbable game-winner to hand Chicago its fourth straight win.
Giddey finished with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists for his fifth triple-double of the season. White led the Bulls with 26 points, while Kevin Huerter added 21.
Reaves scored 30 points for the Lakers, while Luka Dončić contributed 25 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists.
The Lakers, now losers of four of their last five games, struggled to close out the contest despite leading for most of the night.
The Bulls improved to 33-40 as they continue their push for a postseason spot.
